Participants: sharing your subscription on the website
How to give family some of your "VPN" subscription's devices with an invite link, what a participant gets, and how to cut off access.
On this page
"Participants" lets you give someone close some of your subscription's devices. They get their own subscription link, and you can cut off their access at any time without touching your own devices.
You can manage "Participants" on the website account.resetvpn.com (opens in a new tab) and in the ResetVPN app. The Mini App doesn't have it — it only shows subscriptions others have shared with you. If you only use the Mini App, sign in to the website with Telegram — the first time you'll be asked to set an email and password; see The Telegram Mini App: what it is and how to open it.
Who can share#
The "Participants" button (with the number of participants once there are any) is on your active paid "VPN" subscription with a limit of more than one device. Free trial, Premium and "Router" subscriptions don't have it.
How to invite#
Tap "Participants" on the subscription card in "Overview".
Choose how many devices to give in "Devices for participant" and, optionally, a name in "Name or note (optional)". Tap "Create link".
Confirm the handover. Devices aren't added, they're shared out: every device you give is one less on your own limit. Tap "Hand over … devices".
Send the link with "Send", or copy it with the icon next to it. The link is single-use and valid for 72 hours.
The person accepts: they open the link, sign in or sign up, and tap "Accept invitation" (in the ResetVPN app the link can be pasted into "Join a subscription"). The subscription appears in their account marked "Shared".
Rules#
Devices come off your limit as soon as you create the link — even before anyone opens it.
You can only give free devices: you always keep at least one, plus every device you've already connected.
One subscription can have up to 14 participants and invites combined.
A participant's term is the same as your subscription's. When you renew, their term moves too. When your subscription ends, theirs stops working as well.
A participant's devices don't show in your device list: they have their own link.
Cutting off access#
Open "Participants". For an unused invite — "Cancel invite" → "Revoke". For a participant — "Remove participant" → "Remove": their access stops working right away and the devices come back to you.
If you were invited#
The subscription shows on your card as "Shared subscription". You can connect and set up a TV. On the website you also have "Remind to renew" (when the term is running out) and "Leave" to leave the shared subscription. Only the owner renews it.
