How to connect a Linux computer
Installing the ResetVPN app on Linux from a .deb or .rpm package, signing in and connecting.
On this page
There is a ResetVPN app for Linux — .deb and .rpm packages for 64-bit (x86-64) computers. You don't need to copy any subscription link into it: sign in to your account and your subscriptions appear on their own.
How to connect#
Download the package from resetvpn.com/download (opens in a new tab), Linux card: the "Download" button gives the .deb for Ubuntu, Debian and Mint; the .rpm for Fedora and openSUSE is in the "Other versions" list.
Install it with your package manager, for example:
sudo apt install ./resetvpn_amd64.deb sudo dnf install ./resetvpn_x86_64.rpmLog out and log back in. The package grants the app the rights it needs and adds you to the resetvpn group: only group members can connect, and group membership takes effect after you log in again.
Start ResetVPN from the app menu or with the
resetvpncommand and sign in with the same account you use on the website: email and password, "Continue with Google" or "Continue with Telegram".Click "Connect".
If the app says "VPN access needed", your user isn't in the resetvpn group (for example, the computer has several users). Run sudo usermod -aG resetvpn $USER, then log out and log back in.
You can also go without an account: "Continue without an account" → paste your subscription link. In this mode only connecting works. More on the sign-in options: How to sign in to the ResetVPN app.
Using another app#
If the download page has no package for your computer, any Linux app that supports the VLESS Reality protocol and adding a subscription by link will do. Click "Connect" on your subscription, or copy the link and add it to the app as a subscription.
"Overview" → your subscription card: "Connect", or the copy icon next to the "Subscription link" field.
In @ResetVPN_bot: "Personal account" → "Manage subscriptions" → your subscription. "Connect" opens the subscription page; tap the link in the text to copy it.
ResetVPN itself doesn't need the link. For another app, copy it in the "Subs" tab — the copy icon on the subscription card.
If it doesn't work#
The VPN engine lacks permissions
Reinstall the .deb or .rpm package — it grants those rights itself. Other errors are covered in ResetVPN on Linux: installing and common problems.
No subscriptions after signing in
Make sure you signed in to the account that holds the subscription. Subscriptions from the Telegram bot show up after you sign in with Telegram or link Telegram to your account.
