ResetVPN on Android won't connect or keeps disconnecting
Installing ResetVPN on Android and what to check if the VPN won't turn on or stops in the background: VPN permission, battery, always-on VPN.

The ResetVPN app runs on Android 7.0 and newer. The .apk file to install is on resetvpn.com/download (opens in a new tab).
How to install#
Download the file. The "Download" button gives you ResetVPN-universal.apk, which works on any phone. If space is tight, pick the build for your processor under "Other versions": 64-bit for newer devices, 32-bit for older ones.
Allow the install. On the first install Android asks you to allow installing from this source (your browser or file manager) — allow it and open the file again.
Open ResetVPN, sign in and tap "Connect".
A TV needs a different build — see How to set up Android TV with the ResetVPN app.
What to check#
VPN permission. On the first connect Android shows a system request to set up the VPN connection — approve it. If you decline, you'll see "User declined VPN permission": tap "Connect" again and allow it.
Another VPN. Android runs only one VPN at a time. "Could not start the VPN: Android refused to create the VPN interface…" means the permission was revoked or another VPN app took it over: turn the other app off and connect again.
The VPN stops in the background. "Android stopped the VPN in the background" means the system closed it, usually to save battery. In your phone's settings, remove battery restrictions for ResetVPN and allow it to autostart — the menu names depend on the manufacturer.
Memory limit. In the app: "Settings" → "Advanced" → "Memory limit". Turn off "Unlimited" and pick a value: a lower limit reduces the chance the system kills the VPN.
Always-on VPN. "Settings" → "Advanced" → turn on "Kill switch" → "Open VPN settings". Turn on "Always-on VPN" for ResetVPN so the system brings the connection back by itself. "Block connections without VPN" is optional: with it, there's no internet at all while the VPN is off.
Connected, but sites don't load — pick another location and see VPN won't connect or sites don't load.
Still not working#
Open the "Support" tab in the app and tap "Attach diagnostics" — a connection report is added to your message. If you can't sign in to the app, write from the website account.resetvpn.com (opens in a new tab) or on Telegram at t.me/ResetVPNsupport_bot (opens in a new tab). Mention your phone model, Android version and the error text.
