The email with the code doesn't arrive

What to check if a verification code or a password reset email hasn't arrived: spam, the address, code lifetime and resending.

Emails with a code are sent on the website and in the ResetVPN app: when you sign up (including sign-up via Telegram), change your email or delete your account. The code has 6 digits and is valid for 10 minutes. The bot and the Mini App send no code emails — there you sign in with Telegram.

What to check#

  1. Wait a couple of minutes and check spam. Also look in folders such as "Promotions" or "Updates", and search your mailbox for ResetVPN.

  2. Check the address. A typo is the most common reason. The address must use Latin characters; disposable mailboxes are not accepted.

  3. Request the code again. A new code can be sent 60 seconds after the previous one: on the website — "Didn't get a code?" → "Resend", in the app — "Resend code". Enter the code from the latest email: a new code cancels the earlier ones.

  4. Mind the attempts. A sign-up code allows 5 attempts. Out of attempts or the code expired — request a new one. When changing your email or deleting your account, the 5 attempts cover the whole step: a new code doesn't add more, and after the fifth wrong code (or 15 minutes after you started) you have to start the action over.

Special cases#

  • You closed the code screen (website). The sign-in form has no resend button. Sign up again with the same email and username: the unfinished sign-up is replaced and a new code is sent. An unconfirmed sign-up is kept for 48 hours.

  • You closed the code screen (app). Sign in with your email and password: the app sends a new code by itself and opens the confirmation screen.

  • Google (Gmail) address. Sign in with Google — Google confirms the address, so no code is needed. Signing in with Telegram doesn't replace the email: on the first sign-in you still confirm your email with a code.

  • Changing your email. If a ResetVPN account is already registered to the new address, no code is sent — that mailbox gets an email about it instead.

  • Password reset. You get a link, not a code: it is valid for 30 minutes, and a new one can be requested after 60 seconds. The email is sent only if an account exists for that address.

Still nothing?#

Message the support bot @ResetVPNsupport_bot or email help@resetvpn.ru (opens in a new tab) and give the address you're expecting the email at. If you're already signed in, you can also use the "Support" chat on the website or in the ResetVPN app.
