How to connect a router

The "Router" plan: which router you need, where to get the VLESS key, where to enter it and how to switch country.

The "Router" plan is a single VLESS key for your home router. With it the VPN works on every device on your network at once — phones, TVs, consoles — with no setup on each of them.

What you need#

  • A router that can connect over the VLESS protocol as a VPN client — Keenetic or OpenWrt, for example. Check this before you buy.

  • A "Router" plan subscription. On the website and in the Mini App — "Buy subscription" ("New subscription" if you already have one) → "Router". In @ResetVPN_bot — "Personal account" → "Create subscription" (if you already have subscriptions — "Manage subscriptions" → "Create subscription") → the router plan. The ResetVPN app doesn't sell this plan.

How to connect#

  1. Copy the key. It starts with vless://. See the tabs below for where it is.

  2. Enter the key in the router settings — in the section for a VLESS VPN client or proxy connection. What that section is called depends on the router model and firmware — check its manual.

  3. Save the settings and check that sites load on the devices on your home network.

"Overview" → your "Router" subscription card → the "VLESS key" field and the copy icon next to it.

How to switch country#

A subscription has one country; the first one is assigned automatically after payment. You can switch it at any time:

  • on the website and in the Mini App — "Switch country" on the subscription card → pick a country → "Apply";

  • in the bot — "Change country" on the subscription screen → pick a country.

Important. Switching country reissues the key: the old one stops working, and the new one has to be entered on the router again. On the website and in the Mini App you can't switch country on an expired subscription — renew it first.

The key is meant for one router. It isn't a subscription link: the ResetVPN app won't accept it, and phones and computers need a "VPN" or "Premium" subscription. Renewing doesn't change the key.

If it doesn't work#

The router won't connect

Check that you copied the whole key and that the router has the new key after a country switch. Make sure the router firmware supports VLESS. Still stuck? Message support with your router model: the "Support" section on the website, in the Mini App and in the ResetVPN app, or the support bot @ResetVPNsupport_bot.
